If this title made you nostalgic about high school, welcome to the club, friend! Us desi kids have had the privilege of being the swagsters back in school. Be it wearing casual shoes with the school uniform or tying our cardigans around our waists in style, school mein sab chalta hai! That is, of course, till your teacher saw you and immediately took you to the principal! If you’ve done any of the following in school, be thankful you were one of the ‘kewl’-est kids around.

Anytime you wanted to walk with swag—to the washroom, the playground, or the computer lab, folding sleeves till your elbows toh banta hai, boss! How else would everyone know just how cool you were? How would the boys understand ‘yOu’Re Not LikE aNybody ElsE’? How would the girls get it that you were really, actually cool? Extra points to all those who managed to fold their cardigans and blazers during winters as well.

The ultimate swag move was tying your cardigan or blazer around your waist like the school’s newest fashion influencer. There was nothing quite like walking around the corridors in this modified uniform—just until your class teacher walked by and you’d run with your gang.

All the kids who had to wear ties to school (which is pretty much everyone), we feel bad for you. That contraption was a pain and how! Yet, if you were a cool kid, all rules were automatically middle-fingered. You’d not only loosen it up as much as possible, on most days, you’d not even use it.
