South Plains Fair begins on Friday, September 23, to October in Lubbock, Texas.
It's that time of year again and the annual Panhandle South Plains Fair in Lubbock begins on Sept. 23 and runs through Oct. 1. The event will feature a number of promotions including $2 Tuesdays and discounts for students and seniors.
Fairgoers can expect a number of carnival rides for all ages, in addition to a children's petting zoo, agriculture exhibit competitions and the county 4-H club events, according to the Panhandle South Plains Fair's website. This year's event will also feature a number of thrill rides.
Free entertainment is also available with admission, including magic shows, a kid's game show, a "Pirates of the Columbian Caribbean" exhibit and more.
Visitors can also peruse a variety of commercial vendors and classic concession eats including cotton candy, cheese-on-a-stick, funnel cakes, turkey legs, corn dogs and candied apples.
Additionally, the fair will host a discounted program, such as a $1 all-rides day and free admission for senior citizens.
WHERE: The Panhandle-South Plains Fairgrounds is located at 105 East Broadway in Lubbock. On-site parking will be available.
Monday through Thursday: 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fridays: 3 p.m. to midnight Saturdays: 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday: 11a.m. to 11p.m.

Sept. 27 | "Senior Citizen’s Day" $5 admission for adults 60 and over
Sept. 29 | "College Night" College student admission is $5 with current college ID
Sept. 29 | "Wristband Day" $40 Wristband to ride unlimited rides from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
