New River Valley Fair set for July 25-30 – PCPatriot

The New River Valley Fair gets underway next week, July 25-30 at the fairgrounds north of Dublin.

Gate admission to the fair is $7 for ages 12 and up; $3 for ages 7-11 and kids 6 and under are free.

Fair hours run from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday, 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday and 2 to 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Highlights of the week of fun include the Demolition Derby (Monday at 7:30), the horse pull (Tuesday at 7), lawnmower racing (Friday at 7), 4EVER Classic Band (Wednesday at 7:30), Ride N Shotgun Band (Wednesday at 8:30) and the Bulls and Barrels Rodeo (Saturday at 8).

A new event – ATV Rodeo – will be held Thursday at 7 p.m.

All these events will be held in the Bud Walsh Arena and are free with paid gate admission, with the exception of the Bulls and Barrels Rodeo. The rodeo requires a $10 admission and is general seating.

Other events are held in the Wysor Building and include the Appalachian Hoedowners, Java Brothers Bluegrass Band, the pet show, Appalachian Aftershock and the Crystal River Band.

Wrestling stars “Boogie Woogie Man” Jimmy Valiant will appear both Thursday and Saturday. The big event for wrestling fans is Saturday’s action-packed event with Mike Mars and Scott Storm.

As always, Cole Shows Amusements will be offering ride wrist bands for sale. Buy your wristband online at colerides.com and save $5 on the price.

And as always there is livestock shows, agriculture exhibits, vendor booths, displays, food and more.
