Kelsie Whitmore became one of the first women to ever play men’s professional baseball, and she’ll soon make her local debut for the first time as a FerryHawk at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park. The first-year franchise will host its first-ever game at the St. George stadium on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Tickets to see the pitcher/outfielder in action remain available. Whitmore made her team debut in the season-opener, when she served as a pinch runner in the game’s final inning, though she hasn’t made an appearance since.

The FerryHawks are off to an 0-5 start this season and kicked off a two-game set in Southern Maryland on Wednesday, which precedes a three-game series at Gastonia. The FerryHawks will christen their new ballpark with a 12-game home stand to open the month of May, beginning with a three-game set against visiting Lexington. on May 3.

The club will follow with a pair of three-game sets against visiting Gastonia, with the York Revolution sandwiching a three-game series in between.

The FerryHawks announce a partnership with Staten Island University Hospital / Northwell Health that grants them the naming rights to the newly minted Community Park.

Following a brief road trip, the FerryHawks will close out the month of May with three straight home series against York, High Point, and Lancaster.

Tickets can be purchased purchased for $15 on the team’s website and weekly promotions will take place at the ballpark throughout the season.
